The MacMillan Music Studio

The Kieren MacMillan Music Studio is open, and currently accepting students of all ages.

The studio is generally open Monday to Friday 9:30AM-3:00PM. (“Musical emergencies” such as last-minute audition preparation can usually be accommodated 9:00AM-9:00PM any day of the week.)

I offer the following instruction and music services :

  • Composition & Songwriting: lessons, editing, and critiquing in all genres
  • Theory & Counterpoint: lessons & exam preparation
  • Audition & Performance Preparation: all instruments and voices
  • Voice Lessons: vocal training and repertoire development
  • Piano Lessons: training & repertoire development
  • Ear-Training & Sight-Reading: lessons & exam preparation
  • Score Study: all music genres
  • Practice Track Recording & Score Arranging/Transposition

All services are available face-to-face in my studio (near Jane & Bloor, in the west end of Toronto), and all services except piano and voice lessons are also available remotely by internet video (FaceTime or Skype). Fees are $50/hour ($30/half-hour), and the time can be used for whatever services best suit the needs of the student.

In critiquing my first string quartet, Fantasy on Icarus, Kieren spent the necessary time with my music to provide keen insights and offer a number of extremely helpful suggestions.
